Hello. I am the average Joe. The kind of Joe who happens to love video games, board games and fast and loud music. The Joe that attended high school and went to University like everyone else in Portugal. As if one degree was not enough to get sufficient understanding about Computer Science, this Joe insisted in continuing his education further into a Master’s degree level.

The passion for games pushed me into Canadian waters and into a Ph.D. in Games User Research (GUR), particularly in physiological evaluation of players and novel inputs for game interaction, at the GAMER Lab of  the University of Ontario Institute of Technology – UOIT with Dr. Lennart Nacke from UOIT and Dr. Regan Mandryk from the University of Saskatchewan.

His research interests are Game User Experience (GUR), Affective Gaming Game Design, Pervasive Games, and HCI.

Stay a while and listen.
